ART 1: The organizer

The Trail Ubaye Salomon is organized by the Athletic Club Barcelonnette - Ubaye (Association loi 1901) domiciled at 4 Av des frères Arnaud . - 04400 Barcelonnette - France.

ART 2: Date

It will take place Sunday, August 5, 2018 in Barcelonnette in the Ubaye (Alpes de Haute Provence).

ART 3 : Course

3 courses are offered to runners and one course for hikers.

Runners:

"Elite" Course: 42 Km and 2560 m elevation

"Discovery" Course: 23 Km and 1070 m elevation

"Open" Course: 12 Km and 600 m elevation

Hikers: 12 Km and 600 m elevation, untimed, open to all and the same route as the "Open".

Junior : 1999 - 2000
Espoir : 1996 à 1998
Senior : 1979 à 1995
Master 1 : 1969 - 1978
Master 2 : 1959 - 1968
Master 3 : 1949 - 1958
Master 4 : 1939 - 1948
Master 5 : 1938 et avant

"Elite" Course: Veterans, Seniors, Hopefuls

"Discovery" Course: Veterans, Seniors, Juniors and Hopefuls

"Open" Course: Veterans, Seniors, Hopefuls, Juniors, Cadets

"Hikers" Course: Open to everyone, minors must be accompanied and are the responsibility of an adult.

ART 5: Licences or medical certificate

Licensed runners must be licensed FFA Competition, Health - leisure FFA, FFARunningPass, FSGT, UFOLEP FSCF, FFTri, FFCO, SWOT or registered federation. The licenses of other federations are not accepted.

A copy of the license is to be attached to the registration form.

You must provide a copy of a medical certificate of non-restriction to the practice of athletics or running in competition dating less than a year (at race day). It is understood that the copy of the medical certificate provided by the runner during registration is certified to the original. Medical certificates are not returned.

ART 6: Runners outside the European Union

For foreign runners to the European Union, it is obligatory to provide a photocopy of an identity card, a copy of valid residence permit in France and a valid runner’s license or a non-restrictive medical certificate.

ART 7: Hardware

Runners must be in possession of the following equipment:

Mandatory on 23 and 42 km: A pair of shoes suitable for mountain trail, a water bottle or belt Camel Pack, personal food supplies (semi-self-sufficiency) survival blanket and whistle.

Recommended: Cap, a pair of glasses, a mobile phone, a rain jacket (depending on weather conditions) or a windbreaker, sunscreen...

In case of rain only, poles will be allowed on the Elite course, the possibility of using this material will be specified at the start.

Forbidden: Poles for runners (if good weather), spiked shoes.

Any runner seen trying to use poles will be immediately disqualified.

The competitor agrees to have the required equipment on them during the entire event and must present the equipment for verification on request of the organizing committee.

ART 8: Security

Security is provided by emergency workers, nurses, a doctor and security controllers positioned on the route, with the support of the Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne Jausiers.

The passages at the summits are equipped by Michel Coranotte - Mountain Guide.

If you have a problem or are in the presence of an accident during the race, tell a controller or PC call security, who will make a diagnosis and send help.

ART 9: Distribution of the numbers, departure and arrival

The race bibs will be distributed on Saturday, August 4th from 15h to 19h and Sunday, August 5 from 6:30 to 7:40 in Frédéric Mistral place or in the covered market hall in case of bad weather.

The start will be in the centre of Barcelonnette, Manuel Place at 8:00 for the Elite course, 9:00 for the Discovery course and 9:10 for the Open and Hiking courses. The finish will be at the park de la sapinière (100m from the departure).

ART 10: Refreshments, lunch stand and recovery

5 pit-stops, a recovery stand and meals on arrival:

"Elite" course  : R1 6 Km / R2 15 Km / 22 Km R3 / R5 31 Km / Arrival + meal after the race
"Discovery" course : Km 6 R1 / R3 15 Km / Arrival + meal after the race
"Open" and hikers courses : R4 Km 6 / Arrival + meal after the race

You can get “refuelled” only in refuelling/pit-stop areas listed above.

R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5: Cereal bars, bananas, oranges, dried fruits, chocolate, sugar, water, coke
Recovery stand on arrival: cereal bars, bananas, oranges, dried fruits, local products, chocolate bars, sugar, water, coke.
Meals: Meal tray with entree, main course, dessert, bread, wine and coffee

The meal on arrival for runners, walkers and companions is served from noon until the arrival of the last participants.

Runners are required to sort their waste in the containers provided for this purpose in the arrival park.

ART 11: Barriers schedules, controls and dropouts

Runners will be disqualified and race bib removed if they timeout on these time barriers in the Elite course:

Villard Abas R2 - 15 Km: 10:30
Pied du Lan R3 - 22 Km: 24:30
La Rente R5 - 31 Km: 15h00

Discovery race :

Baume Longe Km 11 : 11h

No barrier zone on discovery, open or hiking trails.

In case of withdrawal, the race bib will be removed and the runner must wait for the trail sweeper or controller to return to the arrival area, depending on the place of abandon, the runner may be returned to the arrival by vehicle, they can also return the arrival on their own at their own risk.

A trail sweeper will close the course.

Runners are not allowed to leave the marked trails.

If a runner does not pass a checkpoint, the runner shall be disqualified; checks take place on the course.

ART 12: Respect for the environment

The routes of the trails are in preserved and protected wilderness areas on the edge of the MercantourNational Park.

Any runner caught throwing packaging, tubes of gel or anything else will be immediately disqualified.

ART 13: Bad Weather

In case of very bad weather, the Elite route will be reduced to 30 km, only the summit will not be taken for obvious security reasons. The mountain is beautiful but dangerous if we take risks, respect it. The safety of participants in the mountains is the main concern of the organizing committee.

No changes will be made to the hiker, open or discovery courses.

The finish line is in the park de la sapiniere, except meals and all stands and activities that will be moved to the sports hall of Barcelonnette (400m from the finish).

In case of bad weather, the organizing committee will make every effort to make the event as comfortable as possible for all participants.

ART 14: On arrival

Communal showers are located at the sports centre (400m from the finish) and the Municipal Stadium (600m)

Toilets are available in the arrival park and around the park in the city centre of Barcelonnette.

Regarding the showers, runners are asked to shower quickly after their arrival, to avoid traffic jams and keep the hot water for the late arrivals, be considerate and think about those who will come after you.

Practical maps will be available to participants for orientation and will be supplemented with signs to facilities.

800 chairs + tables will be available for you to eat your meal, thank you for leaving them free when you're done, you can then relax in the grass in the shade in the grassy areas of the park.

ART 15: Awards and prizes

The award ceremony will take place in the Park de la Sapiniere (Or Arena if bad weather) at 14h for the Open race and 16.30 for the Elite and Discovery race.

The first 5 Men and Women of each course

1 male and 1 female in each category, not overlapping with the scratch.

ART 16: Amount of registration

"Elite"course: €32 to 30/06 €37 to 1st of August
Course "Discovery": €22 to 30/06 / €27 to  1st of August
"Open" and "Hikers" course : €17 to 30/06 / €22 to 1st of August

The registration fee includes the race, the runner’s meal on arrival, Salomon Soft Flask 500ml and services on arrival.

Registrations open until 1st of August, subject to available race bibs, no on-site registration.

Possibility of meal trays for companions (not participants: family, friends, coaches, etc ...) and charged at a price of 8 € / pers.

The maximum number of participants will be from 1500 on all routes.

ART 17: Cancellation

If unable to attend, any runner who requests by mail or by email will be refunded the amount of registration.

5 Euros will be retained to cover amounts used by the Organising Committee for the runner.

No claims will be accepted after August 1

ART 18: Liability insurance

Runners are required to be in possession of liability insurance. It is required in the case of medical evacuation (ambulance, helicopter ...) these costs will be charged to you if you are not insured.

ART 19: Race bib

The number must be visible on the chest so that the number is easily identifiable, beware pins for attaching are not supplied.

ART 20: Animals

Runners in the Elite, Discovery and Open courses are not allowed to be accompanied by their dogs.

Hikers can be accompanied by their dogs, provided that they are on a leash.

ART 21: Challenge of the Trails of Provence and UTMB

The Elite course qualifies as 3 (new) points for UTMB. The Discovery and Elite courses count for classification in the Challenge Trails of Provence.

ART 22: Amendment of Regulations

The organizing committee reserves the right to change the rules, the routes and schedules.

ART 23: Right to the image and appearance in the rankings.

Runners and walkers, by their participation, allow the press, the organizing committee and their partners to use on all media, pictures and videos taken, on which they may be visible.

If you do not want your full name to appear in the rankings, please inform us when you register.

ART 24: Regulatory FFA

The Trail Salomon Ubaye will be run in accordance with the regulations for off stadium races of the French Athletics Federation. These regulations aim to protect participants and the environment.

ART 25: Knowledge and acceptance of the rules

By act of registration, you acknowledge having read the rules and you agree to adhere to them.
